We had so many students from Grant High School who wanted to read that we had two readings at Broadway Books! WITS writers Serena Crawford, Apricot Irving, and Carter Sickels had residencies in classes taught by of Stephanie D’Cruz, Mykhiel Deych, Dylan Leeman, Karen Margolis, Mary Rodeback, Kris Spurlock, and James Zartler. Thanks to Broadway Books for being such a generous host, and to all the community members–friends, parents, teachers–who came and provided warm audiences for these emerging writers. We’re already receiving submissions for the WITS Anthology and Digital Chapbooks, and we’re looking forward to publishing some of these students in the fall!
