Liars’ League PDX seeks fresh new short stories to be presented by professional actors at a live event at Literary Arts. Selected work will be published online and recorded for podcasts. Submit writings on the theme of “Natives & Transplants“ by December 31st to be considered for the February event.
Liars’ League PDX looks for fresh, original, emotionally engaging fiction: stories that make us think, laugh, cry, or just leave us speechless. We’d like your stories to have a full arc and a solid ending, no matter how short. We avoid anecdotes, vignettes, or “slice of life” scenes. Strong characters and strong voices will win our hearts and delight the actors who read them! Stories are sent to a panel of out-of-state judges who review, comment, and decide the pieces that are selected for the event.
Stories should be 800-2,500 words unless otherwise specified (flash fiction themes will be 1000 or less) For more information, go to the Liar’s League PDX web site.
