Dante: The Divine Comedy

Delve: Readers' Seminars

Wednesdays, March 4-April 8, 2009
6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Guide: Christopher Zinn

This seminar will examine both the detail and the grandeur that mark Dante’s masterpiece. From the intricate beauty of each terza rima stanza to the wonders of the individual cantos to the majestic three-book structure of the Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso, we will explore The Divine Comedy as concomitantly a deeply personal quest and a reflection of the modern European sensibility that emerged from the medieval era.

Guide: Christopher Zinn, a former Fulbright Senior Lecturer in Turkey, teaches humanities at the Portland Waldorf High School.

Location: Stoel Rives LLC
