![]() 20th Annual Oregon Book AwardsDecember 1, 2006Oregon Book AwardsPortland Art Museum, Fields Ballroom, 7:30 p.m. Join Literary Arts to celebrate the year’s finest accomplishments by Oregon writers in the genres of poetry, fiction, literary nonfiction, drama and young readers literature, as well as overall contributions to the state’s literary culture. Oregon Book Awards Finalists Announced National Book Award winner Barry Lopez, who received the first-ever Oregon Book Award in Literary Nonfiction in 1987 for Arctic Dreams, will host the 20th anniversary of this special event. The author of 15 works of fiction and nonfiction, Lopez is the recipient of last year’s Oregon Book Award in Short Fiction for Resistance and the editor of the forthcoming Home Ground: Language for an American Landscape. A reception and book-signing will follow the ceremony. Finalists are promoted in Oregon’s libraries and bookstores, and welcomed to present their work in communities throughout the state as participants in the Oregon Book Awards Author Tour.
