Unlacing the Boots Clemens Starck

Unlacing my boots, I ease my feet into moccasins.
Soap and warm water absolve the skin from grime.
On the desk in my study are stacks of books
ancient poems and other accounts
of men who lived on this planet once.
A good chunk of oak on the fire
will take the chill off my bones.
