FRAUD WARNING: We have been alerted that some authors are receiving emails that seem to be from Portland Book Festival, offering the opportunity to participate in the festival or a virtual festival for a fee. This is a scam and is in no way affiliated with Portland Book Festival or with Literary Arts.

Invitations to PBF will only be extended from an official literary-arts.org email address; any email that does not end in @literary-arts.org is not legitimate. The festival would never charge authors to be featured in PBF or in any of our events. Furthermore, there is no virtual festival as part of PBF.

It appears that scammers are targeting publicly available email addresses. Please be assured that no Literary Arts data has been compromised or leaked. If you would like to check the legitimacy of an invitation you have received, or if you have been contacted by someone impersonating Literary Arts staff or claiming to represent Portland Book Festival, please kindly alert us at festival@literary-arts.org.
